Bon Jovi speaks to woman who falls off edge of Nashville bridge – National | Globalnews.ca

Nashville police praised rock star Jon Bon Jovi for helping dissuade a distressed woman from falling off the edge of a bridge Tuesday night.

The moment on the city’s John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge was captured on surveillance footage and uploaded online by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. In the video, Bon Jovi and another person are walking across the Cumberland River when they notice a woman in a blue T-shirt clinging to the opposite side of the bridge’s guardrail.

Bon Jovi and his partner appear calm as they approach the woman and talk to her. The video does not include audio and it is unclear what Living with a prayer said the singer.

After about a minute, Bon Jovi and the other person help the woman up the guardrail. Bon Jovi hugs the woman and continues the conversation. Together, Bon Jovi, the woman, and several other people walk across the bridge.

On Day X, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department commended Bon Jovi and his team for their assistance. The authority said Bon Jovi “helped convince” the woman to step off the ledge and return to safety.

Bon Jovi has not publicly commented on the situation.

“We need everyone’s help to protect each other,” Nashville Police Chief John Drake said of the incident. A police spokesperson told CNN that the woman in the video was taken to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.

Bon Jovi were previously spotted filming a music video on the bridge.
